'BOTTLES' AND JUGS

Work is mainly based on the wheel, often made from several joined and altered parts or I build with slabs of thinly rolled or cut sheets of clay, pre-formed at the leather-hard stage. Firing is always to stoneware (1260 c) in an electric kiln. Some pieces are once fired, some go through more firings depending on the surface effects I want to achieve. The metallic bronze finish is once fired and burnished. Please click on the picture for a larger view and details.
